The Idea of the Week
Check out the blog for today’s post on Why Having a Regular Self Check-In is Your Secret to Self-Care (a 7-minute read). We’ll also systematically break down step by step how to incorporate a self-check-in into your routine.
In a world that often glorifies busy schedules, self-check-ins are a reminder that self-care does not need to be grand or time-consuming. This small yet powerful practice allows you to catch any negative thought patterns, assess your needs, and make choices that prioritize your well-being. With regular check-ins, you’re nurturing a healthy relationship with yourself, which in turn positively influences your relationships with others.

Practice of the Week
Dr. Ko from Reset Ketamine (2-minute video) offers a portable tool for when you need to HALT and check in with yourself. HALT is a mnemonic for Hungry, Angry, Lonely, and Tired or Thirsty. When we are in these states, such as when we’re hungry, we are not able to be the best possible version of ourselves.
- Am I Hungry? Have a snack or prepare a meal.
- Am I Angry? Ask yourself, “What is making me angry? Where do I feel it in my body?” Try doing one of these 10 Physical Activities (a 7-minute read) to channel your energy.
- Am I Lonely? You may want to call and connect with friends, family, your loved ones, or someone you trust.
- Am I Tired or Thirsty? Protect your sleep routine (a 5-minute read) and find ways to rejuvenate yourself (a 5-minute read). And as always, stay hydrated.
