The Idea of the Week
Before we dive into the stories of autistic people, let’s look at what autism is. So, What is the Autism Spectrum (14-minute video) and What Does It Mean to Be Neurodivergent (8-minute read)? Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder, in which individuals experience social interaction and communication difficulties and restricted, repetitive interests, behaviors, and activities. It is a “spectrum” because autistic people range in what autistic traits they have, how their traits are presented, and their level of support needs.
