When you’re on vacation or you visit a scenic spot, you witness a beautiful snapshot before you. What do you do? When encountering a beautiful scene, we often whip out our phone to snap a photo of the moment because we do not want to forget this moment! But, what actually happens when we take a photo?

This week, we have 2 reminders:
1. Remember to back up your photos
2. Remember to put the phone down and experience the moment.

Acceptance and Grief

August 30th was National Grief Awareness Day. Grief is complicated, complex, and one of the oldest, universal human experiences. When you are hit with a loss, the grief is often so intense, it knocks you off your feet. Acceptance may feel elusive, almost like an unreachable goal.

So, let’s take it a step back. We do not need to reach for the full acceptance stage. Acceptance can be accepting two contradicting feelings, or the complexity of your grief.

Simplifying your life is about removing unnecessary complexities and stressors. Particularly, these stressors are the small frustrations of everyday life that add up.

Stepped into a puddle and now you have wet socks. Went for a car ride with the windows down and now your hair is a snarled mess for your meeting. There are wires for every device in the house, and no matter how many times you untangle them, they always wind up in a tangled mess where you trip over them.

To say the least, these minor inconveniences are annoying at best and downright frustrating at worst. So this week, let’s look at how we can simplify our lives.

Sunshine Guilt

It’s Hot, It’s Hard to Think
