Routine

Do you prefer your days to be casually spontaneous or structured by routine? Even if you tend to scroll on when you see the word “routine,” we all subject ourselves to a degree of routine without knowing it. But then your workmates start chattering down the hall, and then the heater finally kicks on and begins humming; you hear the cars as they drive by, the clock is ticking, and…all the noises make it difficult to concentrate on your work.

Or, maybe you find it difficult to fall asleep because it’s either too noisy or completely silent.

One way to combat unwanted noise or silence is to listen to noise colors. This week, we’ll learn about the different colors of sound.

Build a Sensory Self-Soothing Kit

Have you ever drifted through a day? Maybe you got tangled in your thoughts and worries, maybe you were running on auto-pilot, or maybe you experienced sensory input that was too overwhelming or uncomfortable.

When we drift from the present moment, we become ungrounded, but we can ground ourselves by engaging with our senses.

In a previous newsletter, we learned how to engage with our senses. This week we’re taking this one step further and learning how we can build our own sensory kit!
