Booking THERAPY INTENSIVES FOR May and June!

We’ve talked a lot about self-care so we can show up and be mindfully present in the world. So, with our self-care centering and grounding ourselves, let’s explore how we can show our loved ones we care and how one kind act a day can brighten our day, the receiving person, and even the observers who only witness an act of kindness.

The Idea of the Week

Whether we perform an act of kindness, receive, or even witness it, doing something kind for someone can give us a warm, glowing feeling on the inside. This 5-minute read discusses the research about how one act of kindness can create a ripple effect.

In a 22-minute TEDx Talk, Orly Wahba describes her journey from dreaming as a young child to changing the world through the power of kindness. She mentions the obstacles she faced along her journey, including battling depression, and the life lessons she learned. Kindness is a perspective and contagious (in a good way!). As a teacher, Orly explains the many projects she did in the classroom with her students, including “Catching Kindness” cards to pass along to someone you’ve witness performing an act of kindness.

The Practice of the Week

When our loved ones are feeling down or at a low point in life, we want to support them and be there for them. Although, sometimes it’s hard to know how we can be of help—how we can support them. This Verywell Mind article (a 7-minute read), breaks down How to Support and Show Up for the People You Care About.

There is an endless amount of ways we can show our loved ones we care—most of which do not have to be a big or profound project. Instead, they can be small actions or a few words. Here are 21 simple ways to show someone you love them to get you started:

  1. Perform an act of service
  2. Gift something meaningful
