The Idea of the Week
So, how do we find a yoga practice that works for us? Here are 3 steps to help you find your yoga style (as provided by this article).
Step 1: Reflect on your intentions.
What are your intentions? What do you hope to gain from yoga?
Are you looking for a sweaty workout? A workout to relax, unwind, and destress? A spiritual experience?
Step 2: Consider your preferences and needs.
What are your preferences and needs for a yoga routine? What are your physical, financial, and time limitations? How can you meet your needs and preferences with those limitations?
Step 3: “Shop” around and try on different yoga styles.
Try different yoga styles, learn from different yoga teachers, and, if possible, try practicing in different settings (e.g. outside vs inside, with other people vs alone).
As you explore, be mindful of how you feel, physically and emotionally, during and after your sessions. Notice what inspires and motivates you to continue; notice what loses your interest.
To start your journey of exploring different yoga styles, this article shares 9 different forms of yoga and what to expect from each style.

News of the Week
Full-Impact Self-Defense Course for Women
“Turn Fear into Power”
As my daughters become young women, I want to give them the best possible tools to navigate this world. I took this course myself in my early 20’s and it was one of the most empowering things I have ever done. 30 years later, my body still remembers what to do. This investment will have a lifelong return. This course teaches women and girls how to defend themselves in the event of an attack. It teaches your body how to remember what to do, in case your brain is offline with fear. Model Mugging is the original, full-force, self-defense program based on martial science and as close to realism as safely possible, Adrenaline Stress Training. Students learn how to harness the power of fear, and find their courage to become their own heroines, not only in class but apply the lessons learned in everyday life.
The tuition price is $595 per person.
July 19th and 20th, 8 am – 6:30 pm on both days.
