Booking THERAPY INTENSIVES FOR May and June!

This may sound a bit unbelievable, but tapping certain places on your body can help reduce stress! This somatic intervention is called Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT Tapping. This week, we'll explain EFT Tapping and share several guided resources (featuring our very own Meg!) so you can practice this exercise anytime and anywhere.

The Idea of the Week

Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT Tapping, is a somatic intervention where you tap your fingers on acupuncture points to decrease distress. As you tap, you focus on sensations in the body, a distressing thought or feeling, or a specific memory or image.

The idea is that this stimulates the body, which has subsequent psychological effects. It can help calm your nervous system and shift how your brain experiences the memory that you are focusing on.

By stimulating these acupuncture points in the face and upper body, the exercise works to regulate your nervous system to support a more relaxed and calmer emotional state.

This is not a one-and-done type of practice. This exercise is best practiced daily. Try to practice this 2 times a day. You can even do this while in bed, trying to go to sleep or wake up!

The Practice of the Week

How do you tap? Tapping is a simple, portable tool that does not require any equipment, and we’ve made it even more portable with this free EFT Tapping guide. Download it today so you can always have the guide, even when you’re on the go.

What can you tap about? You can tap on just about anything! The tension in your body when you think about work. The shame is hiding in a haunting memory. Anxiety and stress about money.

In this 5-minute videoMeg guides you through a tapping exercise about money. There are 3 parts to tap on, so stick with the video to find the version that best aligns with you right now.

If you feel anxious, worried, or tense whenever the topic of money comes up, you’ll want to check out this first part on limiting beliefs.

If you feel less anxious or tense around money, then you may want to try out the second part. With this tapping exercise, open yourself up to the possibility that money does not have to be stressful—that money can be easy and plentiful.

Finally, if you are wide open, the third part invites you to tap into abundance. With this exercise, invite ease and abundance into your life.

You can also tap on positive feelings! In this 2-minute video, Meg guides you through a tapping exercise to anchor gratitude in your body.
