I believe that while we cannot change the things that have happened in our past, we can use the information from our past experiences to help shape our present and future selves. I know that you are the expert on yourself. My role as your therapist is to provide space where you can make sense of and learn from the past to help you deepen your insight and knowledge of yourself. I also offer tools and resources that allow you to cope with current issues in a healthy way.
AREAS OF FOCUS
I have experience working with adults of all ages and enjoy working with LGBTQ+ clients as well as folks who are struggling to cope with anxiety, depression, relationship, and communication issues, or are seeking support while recovering from alcohol or substance use. I am also a firm believer that therapy is for everyone and anyone, and would encourage clients who are dealing with difficult life circumstances or who simply want to better understand themselves to pursue treatment with me.
My ideal client is motivated to better understand themselves and has a desire to work on developing healthy coping and/or communication skills. My ideal client also understands that the "work" continues outside of the therapy session and that real change requires making real changes!
The relationship between the client and therapist is the most important and healing aspect of therapy, and I provide a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental atmosphere to process anything you want to bring to the table. My approach is first and foremost person-centered, which means you are in the driver’s seat of your own therapy, and where appropriate I draw from other modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and existentialism.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the States of New York and Florida (pending). I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University in 2013.

I would describe myself as a compassionate, curious, and creative spirit who loves the magic of autumn, interpersonal connection, and Harry Potter. When I’m not meeting with clients for therapy, I can often be found baking in my kitchen, bingeing a series on Netflix, or curled up with a good book. I currently reside in the beautiful Hudson Valley region of New York with my husband.
I love to travel and even spent a year teaching English in Japan. In addition to Japan, I’ve traveled to many other countries including Colombia, Mexico, South Korea, and Taiwan. I am absolutely fascinated by learning about other cultures, exploring different cuisines, and having new experiences, especially with my husband, my favorite travel partner!
